Another client of THGM Writing Services publishes a best seller. Saving Christ: Starway Seven is a time-travel novel by Francis T. Perry Williams. It takes us back to Biblical times to answer the infamous question: “What if?”

Regular readers of my blog know what a huge Doctor Who fan I am. All you have to do is mention “time travel” and I am all in.

So, it should come as no surprise that when Francis Williams came to us for help refining his time-travel return to the greatest story ever told, I was excited.

If you are a Christian, or even just intrigued by the events of two millennia ago, this novel will literally take you back to those times. Indeed, you will get a front row view of 30-year-old FBI Special Agent Jennifer Mary Williams’ trip back in time. Her mission was to “observe and learn what really happened…to prove to you that He really does exist.”

Much like the hit musical Jesus Christ Superstar, this novel takes place in the final days of Jesus’ life. That’s when everything Jesus stood for came to a climax. That’s when mankind’s fate was sealed. That’s when history was made!

But, as always happens with time travel, things get…er…complicated. I’ll avoid giving away too much. We’ve learned how devastating spoilers can be when it comes to time travel.

Spoilers!

Saving Christ quickly reached number one on Amazon in “New Releases in Religious Science fiction and Fantasy”. This is not Francis’ first novel. He is also author of Pollen and the Ring of Harmony, a more traditional science fiction work.

This time, he was aiming for something a little more ground-breaking. His concept is refreshing, bringing together several themes that appeal to many people.

  • Christian and religious themes
  • Science fiction story
  • Tragic romance
  • Historical fiction

Author Francis T. Perry

“I wanted a new version of the greatest story ever told to inform a new audience – an audience from the present day. I wanted to make a two-thousand-year-old story fresh. I wanted a story that people from today could more relate too. I wanted to show that Jesus could love one just as he loved the many.”

“With so much hate in the world I wanted people to understand that no matter who you are or what you believe, if you know Jesus, you know love. His love and kindness are what we still need even today.”

“I studied Jesus for six months trying to find the true man behind the God. There really isn’t much known about the personal life of Jesus so like a large puzzle I tried to fit as many pieces as possible to get a bigger picture. A lot of the information in the book just seemed to come to me and I wrote the book, 114,000 words in less than three months.”

If the name Francis T. Perry Williams sounds familiar to you, it might be for his roles acting in Laverne and Shirley, Happy Days and Valerie. Indeed, his writing career began with an episode of Laverne and Shirley.

Although Christians will love this book, it is a tragic love story that should appeal to just about anybody who enjoys reading fiction. Here is what the back of the book says about the story:
